Emy-Rose Oz is a French abstract artist whose work is held in private collections internationally. Born in 1988, she lives and works in Lyon, France.
Her practice is rooted in intuitive abstraction, where movement, sensation, and memory shape the composition rather than predetermined forms. Painting becomes a visual language through which inner landscapes, emotional resonances, and fleeting perceptions are translated into color, gesture, and luminous layers.
Working primarily with mixed media, she develops each composition through spontaneous marks, transparency, texture, and fluid movement, allowing the work to emerge organically. Rather than depicting physical places, her paintings evoke psychological and sensory landscapes, inviting viewers to inhabit spaces of contemplation rather than narrative.
Her ongoing series, Visual Poems, embodies this philosophy. Each work functions as an open visual field where meaning is never imposed but gradually discovered through personal perception and emotional experience.
After years of exploring oil, acrylic, watercolor, and charcoal, abstraction became the natural language of her practice. Painting has remained central to her life since childhood, evolving into a process that balances instinct with reflection, freedom with structure, and intuition with deliberate composition.
Her work explores the invisible dimensions of human experience : memory, transformation, silence, and presence, through a refined dialogue between color, texture, and gesture. Rather than offering answers, her paintings create space for introspection and invite viewers to form their own emotional connection.
Influenced by the lyrical abstraction of Helen Frankenthaler and the expressive energy of Joan Mitchell, Emy-Rose has developed a distinctive visual language that combines sensitivity with psychological depth. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in Monaco, and is held in private collections across Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Japan.
Today, she continues to expand a body of work dedicated to the poetic potential of abstraction, creating paintings that become spaces for contemplation, perception, and inner exploration.
