snowy Painting

I made a spruce branch in the snow using the alaprima technique with watercolors in one layer on wet paper. In the drawing, I also used pastel crayons to emphasize the details and give the texture of frost. Celebrating Christmas and New Year is a wonderful tradition that brings families together. And there is no more magical holiday. The only thing that always confused me was the use of a living tree. For the sake of several weeks of magic - cutting down a tree that has been growing for more than one year, it seems to me, is too high a price for a family holiday. Decor is great if it has a life extension after or a more durable alternative in the form of artificial decorations. Therefore, I depicted a spruce in its natural environment. Under the snow and frost. And the cones are like the beginnings of the future forest. For the drawing, I used archival quality cotton paper. The drawing is signed by me in the lower right corner. On the back of the picture there is information about the place and time of the creation of the work.
