I create abstract, nature-inspired paintings that explore the space between emotional depth and stillness.
I tend to experience things deeply — movement, energy, emotion — and my work is a way of translating that intensity into something quieter, but still present. I’m drawn to the tension between peacefulness and drama, and I try to hold both in each piece.
My paintings are influenced by the natural world — shifting horizons, moving light, and the feeling of being immersed in a landscape — but they are not literal. Instead, they reflect an internal experience of those moments, where motion softens and settles.
Having grown up in Portugal and now living in Idaho, I’ve been shaped by very different environments, both of which continue to influence my palette and sense of space.
I build my work slowly, in layers, allowing movement to emerge rather than forcing it. Each painting is less about capturing a place, and more about creating a feeling — something that draws you in, holds your attention, and eventually allows you to rest within it.
