About The Artwork

I was inspired by spring blooming trees. This time of the season when petals fall down looking like a snow. The end of first blossom but only beginning of awakening of the nature. It appeals to my inner awareness of my age. With beginning of the war and forced immigration I felt like my careless early youth has come to an end. I'm still young and have a life ahead, but it's already a new chapter. And the previous one is slowly falling behind me like those tender petals, while I'm rushing into the unknown future. It's natural and exciting, but hard to resist looking back from time to time with a bit of nostalgia.

Ukrainian artist living in Vienna inst: @hellosonya.art ___ In my practice, it is important for me to explore life through humor, irony and metaphor. My creative searches can be conventionally divided into two groups: the first one is focused on mystical, mythological themes, the path of self-exploring through psychology, esoteric laws of the universe and connection with nature. The second one is dedicated to highlighting prosaic little moments in everyday life. In such a polar topics, I see a balance between a person's spiritual search for his destiny and a grounding connection with physical reality, which is the necessary base of this development. I want my works to evoke warm, happy feelings, but with a hint of a mystery that the viewer has to solve or to think about. It is important for me to talk about the deep connection between human and nature, so in my works you can see a lot of animals in typically human situations and, on the contrary, people in the natural environment as its integral parts.
