St. Nikolas Church, Zheravna village Painting

Bulgarian villages…It’s the villages that unveil the soul of Bulgarian culture! There is an old, very interesting church in Zheravna. It is called St.Nicolas. It is hidden behind a high stone fence and you can go into there through a large gate. Then you can see an extensive churchyard and a temple complex, a candlestick , a candlestick shop and a church school. Opposite the courtyard there is a square, a church café and an old oven. The church was built between 1828 and 1834. A rich unique exhibition of icons, stone sculptures and church items is arranged inside it.
