‘Starman’ : A Tribute to David Bowie This is the third painting in my ‘Rock Gods’ Series which is a tribute to all the male musicians who, even in death, continue to this day to have an impact on me in some way or another either through their extreme artistic talents, lyrics, melodies, charisma, or just who they are / were. Their music is also very nostalgic for me. David Bowie was just supreme! His influence from an early age with his alter ego Ziggy Stardust was magnificent and truly revolutionary. The androgenous, and sexually liberated Ziggy had some monster hits and one of my all-time favourites was Starman. This song is a message of hope to earth’s youth through the radio, salvation by an alien ‘Starman’.
