About The Artwork

The main plot of the painting "Station" Childhood "is the image of the memory of a carefree and irrevocably departed childhood. The main character is a child, we see his figure in the central part of the composition. I took the image of a boy from my children’s photos, which are still stored in an old family photo album The plot of the picture is made up of images from my childhood, behind the figure of a child you can see a steam locomotive from children's attractions, which in the summer have always been very popular along with the so-called "Lunaparks" that were brought from Czech . Slovakia to our city above the engine, in the sky, visible images and symbols of childhood, woven patterns and characters: toys, wheels, Christmas trees, house, tree branches. Autumn, evening coloring of the picture emphasizes the feeling of irrevocably-gone childhood and fairy tales. A boy stands at a station called "Childhood", behind his back is a train that will calmly continue to travel around its children's stops. But the child stands as if on the border of childhood, on the dividing strip of dreams and reality, looks at the viewer and as if wants to say: "Is childhood passing?" The child as if with his gaze asks: “What kind of adult life will it be? Will there be a fairy tale in it full of love and carelessness and that same magical train?” This publication uses the second version of the picture, which belongs to the collection of paintings "Russian Gallery XXI Century", Moscow.
