I painted the artwork "Stay Home" as part of my Pandemic series. The inspiration for the painting is a Mother and Child statue in Budapest, a monument to a significant historical event in Hungary. I painted a mask on the mother's face to symbolize the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that has affected people around the world. The image of a mother holding her dead child is a universal symbol of grief and loss, which I felt was especially important in times of global crisis. With this painting, I wanted to convey the idea that although the sources of our pain and suffering are different, we all share the experience of grief and loss. The epidemic affected us all in different ways, but it also brought us together in our collective struggle. This work is a reminder of the need for empathy, solidarity, and shared responsibility in difficult times. In recent years, I have used OSB as a basis. By retracting the paint layers, I use the texture of the veneer as part of my compositions to create a unique rustic industrial atmosphere. The painting is made with self-made paint, which basically consists of pigments and beeswax. Does not contain oil or other paints. The procedure itself dates back to antiquity and has been known for thousands of years. Only a few artists around the world work with wax on their own. The encaustic is equipped with a simple wooden exhibition frame, which harmonizes with the industrial style of the painting and highlights it well. Ready to hang! color and shine. / This work will be delivered with Care Instructions for my encaustic paintings and a signed certificate of authenticity.

„I show the details instead of the whole, sort of inviting the viewer to embrace and understand their surroundings” Dora Stork was selected artist in the London Art Biennale in 2023, an award-winning Hungarian painter whose art has appeared in solo and group exhibitions in the UK, Hungary, and Romania. Her work can also be found in many private collections in the United States, the European Union, and Japan. Dora is an abstract realistic encaustic artist: abstract in the world of color, realistic in the world of form, and symbolist in meaning. As a politically minded painter, she is interested in public life as well as social and economic processes. She presents her particular vision in these works. The dreamlike compositions are her intuitive reflections on public issues. At the same time, seemingly astonishing, strange circumstances and inappropriate details on a rational sphere might evoke questions in the viewer. She mainly uses pure wax and pigments to make her paintings. Over the years, she has developed a medium that does not contain oil or any non-waxy additives. When she occasionally paints with acrylic, the characteristics of her figurative style transform into an imaginary interpretation of nature. Dora is an active, awarded member of her community and regularly takes part in their group exhibitions every year.
