ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Still Mountain Waters "Are you bowed down in heart? Do you but hear the clashing discords and the din of life? Then come away, come to the peaceful wood, Here bathe your soul in silence. Listen! Now, From out the palpitating solitude Do you not catch, yet faint, elusive strains? They are above, around, within you, everywhere. Silently listen! Clear, and still more clear, they come. They bubble up in rippling notes, and swell in singing tones. Now let your soul run the whole gamut of the wondrous scale Until, responsive to the tonic chord, It touches the diapason of God’s grand cathedral organ, Filling earth for you with heavenly peace And holy harmonies. ~James Weldon Johnson This painting is primarily oil with elements of pastel, translucent papers, and gesso for added depth and texture. The artwork is on a ¼ ' thick, birch wood panel and is finished with several coats of museum grade satin varnish. There is a small signature seal stamped on the front, with the full artist's signature signed on the back. Ships with a certificate of authenticity and a care and handling card with instructions for the preservation of this art. About the artist : The soft painterly, luminous expressiveness of Katrina Jones' paintings offer an escape and a suspended moment of nature and beauty. The subtle & rich colors, and aged textures she applies in her art, offer a peaceful quality. Her work is shown in galleries online, and licensed for wall art, decor & gift ware. Her original paintings can be found in private collections around the world. "I am moved by color, music, poetry, patterns and rythms in nature, and inspirational personal stories that quicken the heart and bring me home. This is what I paint about. I often incorporate some nostalgic themes from my childhood... magical times of innocence, comfort, and joy. I have a deep reverence for wildlife, and wistful times or places of solace. I feel that by creating an artwork of that nature, I can share a gift of feeling and allow my spirit to connect with others. I have been painting, drawing, and crafting things for as long as I can remember and the experience of creating art is my Eden. It is my hope that experience is carried to the viewer." Katrina lives and works out of her home based studio on a small farm in rural Ohio. These works are offered to the audience that connects to the spirit and dance of beauty they represent.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. In my experience, Art is a language of what is observed and felt with the spirit. It feels like my most comfortable and natural way to communicate. I paint about what fills me with inspiration, awe and wonder. I am moved by wild places, flora and fauna, feelings of wistfulness, nostalgia, myth and magic, poetry, and places of solace, which you'll find reflected in my artwork. The creative process is a blend of structure and intuition. Each pieces goes through a kind of evolutionary process from concept to completion. At times I am immersed in nature, observing while sketching, making small studies, and taking photographs. Other times I am reflecting, feeling, and expressing from my dreams and inner nature, or mythic inspiration. I love having a feeling of dreaminess woven into even the most simple compositions. In my studio I utilize the references I make and other mediums for final compositions. Working mainly with oil with elements of pastel, translucent papers, and gesso or medium for added depth and texture. For painting I use canvas or 1/4" to 1/2" thick, birch wood panel as substrates and each piece is finished with several coats of museum grade satin varnish. Mixed media pieces may have watercolor, pastel, vintage ribbon, papers, crystals or jewlery, and other decorative pieces combined with a wood cradle board or frame. My goal with each artwork is to capture a suspended visual moment of liveliness and beauty and to celebratie inspiration, spirit and archetype energy. Feel free to contact me to work together for a private painting commission, publishing project, or licensing -
