About The Artwork
Strange Ways, was inspired from hiking in nature. This painting has reincarnated many times over the past 11 years the different textures were added to each version. The latest incarnation has very bright colors using florescent, pearlescent, iridescent, and metallic colors. These colors and textures are in your face and create a psychedelic feel to the painting. The painting was painted abstractly in a very expressive way this allows the viewer to bring their own story to it in strange ways. The florescent paint reacts to black lights. The pearlescent, iridescent and metallic paint reacts to blue and red lights.

I’m a visual artist my work is frequently inspired by nature. My daily walks let me commune with nature from watching the ducks interact to observing the pattern of the bark on a tree. Like an improvisational Jazz musician I compose on the fly using pattern, repetition and texture to create my forms. I have my BFA in drawing and painting and my MFA in sculpture. After I graduated with my BFA I started an apprenticeship with the sculptor Mike Cunningham http://www.mcunninghamstudio.com/ I worked for him for 2 years then started my MFA program. Then after I graduated with my MFA I worked for Richard Davis http://www.richarddavissculpture.com/ for about 11 months. Now I'm working as an artist and teacher.
