About The Artwork

Several very different worlds coexist in me, which sometimes conflict with me: the passion for a traditional, Renaissance, religious, beautiful art, and the search to adapt that genre to the elements that affect my life today. Feminism, my Latin American identity, the militancy for art to be considered a decent job, are political facts that reshape my way of seeing the world, and therefore, coexist in my work. As Felix González Torres said: “there is no such thing as inert or apolitical art”. Some time ago I discovered a wonderful object that changed my perspective: the round frame. What a circle transmits is much more than I can describe, but I am convinced that the value of the support totally enriches the complete work. I work patiently, erratically, and alone. I'm not blown away by the amount of detail, but my biggest challenge was the resizing, because so much white overwhelmed me. I used to use a lot of reference photos, but I'm slowly learning to let go and allow myself to imagine. I consider that my body of work goes through several different themes, and yet with similarities: the sublime beauty of the sky, the delicacy of a body in contact with another's skin, the flash of light attacking a glass vase, a self portrait looking me straight in the eye. The intermediate waiting space, the moment before touching, the intimacy of roundness, the impact of a blue that looks at us and that we recognize. It could be love: not romantic, but as a simple and detailed gesture, like an ode to a night sky, like a brushstroke of light. Love for nature, for your neighbor, for beauty itself. Feelings spent a long time muted under the rules of conceptual art, and I try to retrace that path: what moves us, the sentimental, is just as important (and political) as an intellectual analysis.

I was born in 2001, in Buenos Aires. I started painting over 10 years ago, mostly with acrylics, a medium I never stopped. My greatest interest in the plastic arts has always been through the figurative and drawing, something I discovered by taking classes with the visual artist Luz Peuscovich. With her I participated in my first group show. After that, I continued working on painting with two other great artists, Ana Ruiz Luque and Inés Tarducci. I trained (and I train constantly) in History of the Arts. I participated in workshops on different techniques, such as watercolor and sumi-e; and in intensive classes on understanding contemporary art and color technique. In 2020 I organized my first class, "Everything you wanted to know about contemporary art and never dared to ask", virtually, together with Inés Tarducci, which had more than 70 attendees. I did two internships for Under 20 youth at Museum of Latinamerican Arts of Buenos Aires (“In Action”; “Museum Connection”) in 2019, where I later worked as a room counselor. I currently work as an independent cultural manager, I am studying a Bachelor's Degree in Art and Culture Management at the National University of Tres de Febrero, and I am a teaching assistant in Cultural History I, in charge of Julio Sanchez Baroni. I continue to carry out art clinic with Fabiana Barreda.
