About The Artwork
"Dangerously Sexy" is a daring and seductive series of paintings depicting women's silhouettes with some type of weapon. The inspiration for this series of paintings comes from the compelling affects our outer beauty has on society and how society's definition of beauty impacts us. Beauty in most cultures are assimilated with good and purity of character, however, outer beauty can be dangerous because it can be use to manipulate others. I chose to use a woman's silhouette because it leaves the viewer to define what beauty is. The weapons are representative a few things, one is the power beauty has over society and self. Another, is to allured the viewer to explore, self-love, inner strength, self-awareness and the mind-blowing power of how we use or treat others based on physical appearance alone.

Ruthy Valdez is a self-taught artist known for her enigmatically figures and dreamlike backgrounds that are reminiscent of lucid dreaming. In the last 18 years, she has created her own unique artistic voice while captivating the viewer with her vivid acrylic colors and intelligent subjects.
