Structure Universe: Coral Painting

My Structured Universe series features woven watercolor papers, multiple layers of acrylic paint, and gold leaf. Approx Image size: 10 x 10" I try not to waste anything in the studio! Scraps of watercolor paper that might have been discarded are collected and repurposed for this series. Woven together with additional hand-torn papers, they create unique shapes and patterns with irregular edges. These asymmetrical surfaces are built-up with many layers of acrylic paint and medium and finished with gold leaf. Traditional metal leaf gilding techniques are used in a fresh and modern way to add a glittery shimmer to these pieces. Framed in simple white shadowbox frames, these works become special object d'art that will add an eye-catching pop to any decor! They work great in series. Custom colors and other sizes available too.
