The artist present in the foreground, trapped in his own shadow, frozen, his back turned toward the figure of a woman, drenched in blood, with the lower part of her legs made with clay of the mother-earth goddess. She leans back onto a black & purple cross protruding, drifting in a pool of red ‘blood’, as if resting, tired, from suffering, from giving birth to generations of soldiers, the infant-with-rifle at her feet, flowing over the edge of the red pool, into the arena of war. The cross propped up against a building, a temple of religious worship, with an open door, enticing. The women’s head is cast in white marble by the religious oppressors living inside the temple, to capture and tame her wild spirit. To the left of the temple, a yellow roller-curtain is drawn to keep light out. A lamp of enlightenment shines dimly above the temple but is shaded from the women by a large black umbrella. Surrounding the figures around the pool and the temple, the arena where battle takes place.
