I adore the summer, blue skies, warmth and every plant and tree, showing colourful exuberance, whose colours are magnified and abstracted in reflections in water, glass or anything that absorbs and reflects the colours of its surroundings. These paintings are inspired by that fascination. The painting is not a direct representation but an expression of a recollected memory. They evolve organically with the process of applying paint, within the formation of a fluid composition.

I choose to interpret this, not necessarily by painting the topographical, but instead finding the ordinary to describe the extraordinary. I like to explore these, they are often far from being simple and uninspiring. I find there is a natural poeticism, look closely and you will find a complex tapestry of colour, texture, light and shade.
