About The Artwork
Inspired by the painting of Jheronimus Bosch (The deadly sins) I made a series of the 7 individuel sins and positioned the deadly sin and its corresponding virtue in the same painting. This painting shows the sin: Superbia (Pride) and its opposite Humilitas (Humility). Pride is symbolized by the ta women looking in a mirror only seeing facebook spreading the "wonderfull things in life she enjoys. Humility is symbolized by the Pope washing the feet of a muslim female prisoner. The viewer of the painting has the choice on what side of the dividing line are you?
