Based in Tbilisi, Georgia, Ekaterina Ilina is a visual artist whose work fosters a quiet dialogue between the intimate and the eternal. Educated at the Stieglitz Art Academy in Saint Petersburg, she possesses an extensive background in spatial and mixed mediums, though her current practice represents a profound return to painting.
Influenced by Vipassana meditation and Jungian psychoanalysis, Ekaterina engages in an intuitive "archaeology of the unconscious." Her latest watercolor series intimately examines male vulnerability, focusing on corporeality and emotional exposure. The fluid, transient nature of watercolor perfectly captures the fleeting essence of existence, reflecting her deep philosophical interest in impermanence and the poetic transformation of memory.
Supported by international residencies in Europe and Georgia, alongside recent exhibitions in independent art spaces, her practice continues to evolve. Ultimately, Ekaterina's art serves as an invitation to experience timelessness, offering inner harmony through the contemplation of beauty.
