ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Early spring maple syrup in Maine . . . pancakes waiting. This 16x20 oil painting on stretched canvas features a New England farm and trees being tapped in spring while there is still some late spring snow on the ground. The work is on a gallery-wrapped canvas with the painting "wrapped" around the sides. It does not require a frame. The painting is wired and ready to hang upon delivery. I am a single mother that turned to painting to help pay my mortgage and stay sane and over the last ten years, I have built it into a small business with works selling through social media and in physical art galleries.

Lynn Ricci is a representational artist best known for capturing the seasonal beauty of her New England home focusing on realism and impressionistic oil paintings of coastal towns and islands from Massachusetts to Maine, the historical city of Boston, and the forests and farms further out in the countryside and along the East Coast. Lynn draws her inspiration from her New England surroundings. While growing up north of Boston, Lynn spent summers enjoying the beaches and her family's boat while admiring the coast and islands. Back at home, she would use paper and canvas to capture these sights. Travel is something that encourages creativity and Lynn's wanderlust has led to paintings of farms in southern states, and landscapes of North Carolina. Lynn went to school for a commercial arts certificate and attended Mass College of Art in Boston for fine arts until deciding not to actively pursue a career in the art world. Although her professional career path turned toward corporate roles, she never completely stopped painting and made a full return in 2013.
