About The Artwork
This work, like many of my works, contains a complete painting hidden beneath the painting that you see. When I'm not satisfied with a piece (which is often), it will hang there until I know what it wants to become. Sometimes this is immediate, sometimes it takes time. This piece was originally my first attempt at abstract art. It had exuberance, but lacked refinement. It took a few years before I knew where I wanted to take it, which is in a subtle but fierce piece swirling with rhythm and anticipation. Like the ocean, it is deceptively powerful. This canvas is hand stretched on a hand built frame.
