There are two figures depicting the same subject from different angles. There’s a rhythm in the painting that is almost a staccato. The painting was very much influenced by fashion, there's a “peacoking” attitude displayed by the figure that embodies a lot of what the fashion industry puts out. The space the figure is is has also been abstracted with interesting overlapping of lines varied in hue and value similar to the lines in plaid fabric. The oil paint has been used very expressionistically- in washes and in glazes, transparently and opaquely.

Georgia based visual artist, and fashion designer Kenneth “Kenny” Jonas draws inspiration from the world of fashion and art history’s nude tradition. As a contemporary artist-- Jonas engages the social constructs centered on clothing and how it relates to our perception of other people and how we view ourselves. His prints, drawings and paintings are a contemporary view of the human figure. Initially, Jonas’ portraits were based on editorial photographs taken of fashion models. As his practice grew, he has shifted his gaze towards everyday people- an inclusive view. Kenneth “Kenny” Jonas received his BFA from Georgia Southern University in 2014, double majoring in Apparel design and 2D Studio art concentrating in drawing and painting.
