Talk About Painting

This painting was created after spending time with friends and family talking about the major issues in the news today facing us and our children. It was interesting to hear what was a foremost concern to each individual and I tried to incorporate those concerns into the creative process. As usual, color is at the forefront of my art and expresses how lively and varied our discussions were and how individual we all are. This is a large free-hanging canvas that is so much fun. It is not mounted on a frame but rather hangs from a decorative curtain rod with clips. I love the freedom to paint large and not to be bond by size restraints. I have not trimmed it and leave that up to the new owner to trim or mount as they desire, but I will rim if requested. I like to hang these paintings as a tapestry, the space between it and the wall gives it so much depth and personality and is so unique, a different expression all together! (Hanging hardware is not included). The canvas is heavy enough to hang flat but can be weighted at the bottom if so desired. High-quality acrylic paints have been used and newsprint has been glued and sealed unto the canvas. I have used lots of bright, sunny colors to awaken our love of summer, (when this painting was created!), and give a warm feeling. The news may be dark but our love, life and happiness can shine through!
