About The Artwork

Tamas - one of the gunas, which is described by the Bhagavad Gitta. Guna (literal translation - rope) binds man, making him a puppet. The quality of man's life depends on the condition of these "ropes". The specificity of this guna: ignorance, darkness, selfishness and greed. A man blindly comes into this state, because Tamas lacks the ability to understand and realize. While influenced by this guna, person is not guided by common sense, doesn't feel any craving for work, becomes lazy and he/she cannot resist it. A man is attached to comfort, soft sofas and carefree way of life. Cobweb, in which prefers to be such a person, limits his/her potential and abilities. This state has a lot of temptations. Not so much people can resist it. In this work I wanted to show outlines of this guna, how it hides the dark sides of its influence on the person, giving a constant feeling of peace and relaxation. There is nothing wrong in comfort, and usage of material goods, but do person really need so many of them, does it worth wasted time? There are black lines, which are in the center, separates the normal understanding of needs: harmonious division of peace and cheerfulness, intelligent usage of material things and abnormal: willing to stay in inactivity and to consume more and more.

I was born in 1988 Ukraine. Now I live and work in Germany. The first person who influenced my creativity, was my father. I often watched as he paints or draws premises. I started painting in 2009. My work was influenced by the works of artists such as Kazuo Shiraga, Jackson Pollock, Wassily Kandinsky, Gerhard Richter. In 2013,I worked half a year in South Korea and began creating my first series of abstract painting using acrylic and ballpen techniques. In 2014, in collaboration with other artists, I organized an event entitled "Experimental space", where I first displayed all my work. 2015-2016 brought me to China where I created several series of paintings using oil on canvas in an abstract expressionism style. During these two years, I also organized a solo exhibition where I took part in 4 international exhibitions. In 2022, when Russia went to war with my country, I temporarily moved to Germany. Through my works I hopes to showcase formless movements, moving outside of time, and the flow of energy that surrounds all living things. I finds inspiration in natures elements; water, fire, wind, earth. I belief that human beings are one with our planet and we have the Creator.
