Teal Wave Painting

This is an abstract piece painted on what I call Wine Paper (the paperboard used in cases of wine). I used this for its ability to hold a great deal of paint, its texture, and to reduce what I send to the landfill. Upcycled art has many appearances and I want this Wine Paper collection to demonstrate the possibilities of using alternative mediums and styles. Additionally, I have placed this piece in a refurbished wooden frame. The style is inspired by Aboriginal dot painting and movement. The original is marker, paint, and acrylic marker on paperboard. The traditional black background is broken up with sweeping teal bands with colorful orange and red dots.
