There are straight lines and curves. They meet and connect with each other to form circles and polygons. The coloured faces have names and meanings like symbols. Shape language sometimes speaks more than text does. On the painting, there are books, wheels, and houses from the left. Books are stories. Humans grow within stories and each one becomes a story. They connect with each other using language and text as tools created for communication. The connection makes man a human. Wheels are a realization of the desire for movement and they have relatively more curves among man-made things. The wheels were turned into gears screws and extended functionality. In the universe, numerous beings rotate and revolve in endless reincarnation. The rotation movement is engraved in our instincts as a hint. The house rests all life. The house makes and embraces life. We come from nature, build houses and stay in nature, and go back to nature. There is no tool to keep then. Sometimes I look intently at the tools around me.

South Korea
Born in 1968, I worked as an illustrator in publishing and advertising for over 20 years from the mid-1990s. Since then, I changed my direction to fine art and participated in five solo and group exhibitions and have won prizes in domestic and international competitions over the past 10 years. My favourite materials are oil and watercolour, and my main theme is the relationship between vision and perception. I pursue to materialise my theme as harmonious forms on a canvas. With a style that encompasses figuration and abstraction, I strive to produce thoughtful paintings, while maintaining a balance between forms and concept. I run and work in an active studio in Seoul.
