Donatas Inis is painter, born in small and beautiful town, Anykščiai, Lithuania. Drawing and painting have been accompanying him since the early childhood. From simple hobby, it eventually grew into desire to become a professional artist. Donatas is one of the few classical realism representatives in Lithuania, who attempts to harmonize the modern way of thinking, relevant things, and old techniques. The latter have been learnt by studying the works of the old masters. The artist recognizes that the authors like Peter Paul Rubens, Rembrandt, Michelangelo, Pascal-Dag nan Bouveret, Emile Friant, etc. often become a source of inspiration. Following them, he wants to promote and revive the principles and ideas of the classic realism school, which have been forgotten in Lithuania. In recent years, Donatas’ works have been dominated by post-war fights for freedom. The themes of historical memory, eternity, existentialism, and empathy are the ones that Donatas is trying to emphasize most in his art works currently. Turning back to the past is a kind of search for the ideals, typical for the romanticism artists, for example E. Delacroix, T. Gericault, W. Turner, etc., who are considered by Donatas Inis as one of his teachers. In 2017, Donatas acquired the Master Degree in Arts in Vilnius Academy of Arts. Gives lectures in Vilnius Academy of Arts, Faculty of Kaunas. Established and used to give lectures in the first classical realism studio in Lithuania, which unites the artists, striving for craftsmanship. Improves his knowledge in creative workshops, plein air workshops. Organizes annual plein air workshop for young artists in Anykščiai district, Niūronys.
