About The Artwork

Portrait of the artist's mother made from life, whilst playing a tense game of dominoes with the father. The tension could be felt in the air as at this stage they reached a critical moment in the game - whoever was left with the most digits on their leftover dominoes would lose instantly. Inspired, as usual, by Nigerian wood crafts, with elements of MH Sarkis's "carving" style. Made with quality acrylic paints on sturdy acrylic paper.
