About The Artwork
I am a children's book artist and author, and wanted to branch out into realistic illustrations of animals. My medium is oil pastel, which I find had a rich texture and vivid colors. I am particularly interested in animal's eyes, which is why I have many pieces cropped close to the face. Their eyes tell their story. I've learned a lot about animal's eyes, for instance sheep have horizontal pupils, so that they can see their preditors coming from an almost 360 degree view!
