The Fallen Angels Painting

Mix media on unprimed canvas. A piece from a series of work called The Journey. Hung on bamboo poles. 'The One', 'Muse', 'Sanctum', 'Harmony' and 'Pistis Sophia' were made with Chinese black ink and with 'The Fallen Angels' I introduced colour. It's a body of work inspired by dance, movement, martial arts and meditation. This work was all about being in the Now, present with the canvas, my brush an extension of me feeling and tapping into my emotions and expressing them. I had been studying angels for my MA dissertation and found myself immersed in another world. Since ancient times to now days religious and agnostics have see angels. They have been witnessed and inspired by all different types of humans on this planet. With the research I came across The Book of Enoch and was fascinated by it. The Fallen Angels had been expelled from Heaven and had landed on Earth and ended up being tempted by the female humans to whom they had children with and begot the Giants of old times. I was so intrigued by this that it took me into another journey of artwork. The piece is about how the fallen angel and human met.
