The final gate Painting

I got inspired to draw this when I had a thought about Judgment! I was pondering one day that where are the consequences of so much wrongdoings in our society, when I say society I mean the whole world’s populous as a single entity. I strongly believe that we are divided as a society only because of our political and geographical borders which have been imbedded deep in our beliefs throughout centuries! All that apart, continuing about my thought about judgment. I am a strong believer in Hinduism and that is what got me thinking about where the ultimate judgments would pass? This painting depicts an imaginary place where souls are judged also known as “The Final Gate” before, heaven or hell. The mixture of colours at the bottom represents different souls depending on their deeds. These different souls which haven’t been judged yet are walking on a bridge of sorts, where there is a great spiked fence before them, where they will be judged and then move on to the door with the bright white light (bar in the centre). Where at the door they will be allowed to go through or denied. The different colours on the top sides represent souls which have be judged and now are being sent to heaven. The white paint before the purple fence represents the damned souls which will be stuck in black oblivion for eternity and will never pass on to heaven. Contrary to those, the white souls which are being sent to heaven are of the purest form, ones which were never tainted with any wrongdoing. Hence I drew this painting thinking about the ultimate judgment and how one day we all must face it!
