About The Artwork
A vanitas style still-life echoing the tradition of Dutch still-life painting that I grew up around. This piece depicts many relics from my past including my families old clock as well as several beautiful taxidermic animals from my personal collection all set against a stormy seascape. Done on fine Belgian linen using Gamblin oil paints and technically of very high quality. Painted in my studio over the course of several weeks in 2014.
