The house of pomegranates and silk Painting

This painting was inspired by the light of Caravaggio and by the many meanings that the pomegranate has in a religious environment, this piece is meant to make people think about their feelings in their best/darkest way when they look at it. Pomegranate means fertility, martyrdom, richness and honesty. The Virgin Mary was often represented holding a baby Jesus and a Pomegranate in her hand, symbol of passion (due to its coloured juice recalling blood). Silk means softness, flow, destiny and a light approach to life, being shape by the surrounding.
