About The Artwork

This painting is a fancy view, of the Hudson River as in Winter, during the 19th century. It was inspired by the illustrative, romance of Tom Sawyer and his friends. I have never been to the United States, and took also some inspiration, from the surrealism of Douanier Rousseau. I have a great pleasure in admiring, the impressionist works of this period, and wanted to figure this influence, maybe in a modern, naive coloration. I gave this painting to Sharon Stone. T.B.
