About The Artwork

Don't hurry, stop, let your gaze take a passionate kiss deep into the picture, and if you look closely you can discover a whole universe of meanings... The spiral is associated with the symbolism of the centre, the beginning of the beginning, where development, evolution, the movement of life begins. This centre is where forces, power and energy are concentrated to ensure movement. This is the great creative force, the solar power of creation, the hidden fire. In addition to fire, heat-tapas, the spiral is associated with water, with the Great Mother who rules life and death. Combining the form of a circle and the impulse of movement, the spiral is a symbol of time, cyclicity, life and death. This is why it is linked to the idea of dance, which here is united in a kiss, the endless kiss of love, to make it last forever. In addition to the burning passion, there is an allegory in this work: the kiss of Mother Earth, which breathes life and, as we know, is the purest and most unconditional love.

My name is Kilchevskaya Iuliana. I was born and live in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. I loved to draw since my early childhood, so my parents took me to drawing circles, and at the age of 15 I graduated from the Shchusev Art School. I tried poetry, music and dance, one of my poems was even published in the Almanac. But these hobbies were temporary, and after graduating from the art school there was no doubt that I had to continue my search for myself in the direction of fine arts. To this end, I entered the College of Technology. There was a wide field for creativity: we drew models of clothes, sewed and organized, improvised, fashion shows. After my bachelor's degree, I was sure that my profession should be related to drawing, so I entered the Faculty of Arts and Crafts at the I. Creanga Pedagogical University. It was my place of strength, where I got my daily energy. Absolutely all subjects gave me joy and pleasure. All the arts I had ever dreamed of studying were represented there: jewelry, ceramics, tapestry, batik, graphics, painting, history of art, drawing, photography, basics of decorative arts and other subjects. After graduating from the university I was invited to work in Russia, in the city of St. Petersburg, in the exclusive agency "Sophia", where I had a unique opportunity to practice all the areas I studied at the institute: I painted walls and clothes, painted on glass and fabrics, and painted paintings for sale. In St. Petersburg I was lucky enough to attend the painting classes of the abstract artist Vadim Boronenko, as well as poetry evenings, theaters, museums and concerts... This is an unforgettable, amazing period of my life! After working in St. Petersburg for 4 years, I returned to my hometown Chisinau and decided to find a job with a stable schedule and income. A few years passed, but life without my favorite work lost its meaning. And then I started painting again, studied new painting techniques, attended on-line courses, master classes in Moscow and Italy. In 2022, at the exhibition "Moldova Are Arta", fate in the person of Iurie Palkov brought me together with amazing people (Christina Balan, Olesya Muntean, Maxim Dovbysh), my like-minded people, with whom we came up with the idea of painting together, united by spiritual values and common meanings. We have already held two exhibitions together: in Chisinau and in Bucharest, and we have big plans for the future.
