About The Artwork

This alla prima and very atmospheric painting is inspired by the beautiful divine and dramatic landscapes the artist could admire from the very south west coast Cabo Saõ Vicente and Fortaleza de Sagres in Portugal. It invites the viewer to enlightment and serenity. There is hope and light even through darkest and scary times such as what is currently happening in the world. The artist used oil on canvas, wet on wet painting applied with brushes and knife to render different textures and feelings of humidity, rain, light, clouds. The contrast between darkness and light brings this dramatic scene the power to rise emotions. The light on the sea resonnates like a light note of a violin amoung heavy basses and melodic pianos.

"I believe in the healing beauty of Nature and Arts. » Cæsiliæ is a French painter currently based in Berlin and specialized in oils. Her large scale spiritual paintings open a window to other realms through luminous reflections, portrait of women and floating flowers on water, displaying a visual dance of light and feelings. Her work appears in several private and public collections around the world and it has been featured several times in curated selections by international galleries and charity organizations dedicated to Women and the Environment. Cæsiliæ comes from her second name, Cecilia, which means blind, fortunate or secret in Latin. In addition, Saint Cecilia (230 AD) was the saint for poets and musicians. Each artwork is unique and signed at the front or at the back by the artist.
