Sometimes a composition will just drop into my head. This one is an example of that: I just saw a woman's eyes turning into stems of lily pads under water and the result is a sweet dreamscape in shades of teal and orange / rust colors. Using wood as a substrate allows the wood grain to show through as part of the composition.
