About The Artwork
Located in downtown Santa Barbara this building was once an Opera House built by an Italian Immigrant called José Lobero. The Lobero is now used as a theatre for cultural events. The building was completed in 1873 and rebuilt in the Spanish colonial revival style in 1924. The Lobero Theatre is one of the oldest theatres in California showing Santa Barbara’s commitment to the arts.
