About The Artwork
At a previous residence, I would enjoy the colorful blossoms of a quince tree. The tree was frequented by a family of blue jays who would seek the refuge in the thorny tree. They seem to take turns at the top of the tree as a lookout for predators and this is what inspired the painting title. It is painted on a gessoed hardwood panel with layers of oil paint. A treasure of a painting!
