Ships in a Tube
She asked herself, why should I have so much power as a woman but fail to use it? I may not be a wife but I am a woman. A woman is a woman, married or not. The difference between us is that a wife wears his ring and bears his name and pretends that she is his equal. But we know we are not their equal; can never be! Not in that sense. Equality is not the comparison in strength and deeds. They have too much going for them by design - man’s design. It is their world. Equality is coming to terms with who she is - a woman. Equality is being the best in her womanhood. Equality comes when they are both naked and she is required to provide some warmth by stoking the fire. When she has the opportunity, she takes control and steers the ship. She becomes the ‘wo’ that compliments the “man”, and since ‘wo’ comes before the “man”, she comes first – naturally! She levels with him when she makes him play on her turf. She redesigns their environment to what she prefers. She takes charge. She can send him to heaven or hell. She can make him declare war against nations or bring peace to the land. It is within her power. She becomes his equal then and even much more. That is the power we have.
