About The Artwork
This is an old barn in Cedarville, CA. The air is clear and cool. The colors pure and direct, inspiring a depth, only possible with layers of transparent oil paint. I was delighted at the complexity of a simple scene. The shadows on the grass were like an water reflection, and the green gate became blue in the light an black in the dark. It is sort of a prayer to the earth that is mathematical and spiritual in the same instant.
