About The Artwork
This is a painting of a woman´s back in a glare of light. The atmosphere is relaxed. I like the textures of both the wall in the foreground and the back itself. Although, painted on paper ( Fabriano 200grams ), the surface was painted thoroughly to enhance the textures. It´s on two panels. The effect is the gap in between, which can be moved around in order to accomodate to different spaces or créate different effects. It´s something I like to do some times when I paint portraits. In this case, it could either be framed as a single image or using two different frames. The painting is oil painted on a Fabriano 200 grams LR paper. Gabriel Glaiman, Buenos Aires, 1969 Since 1998, he has worked as an artist and as a teacher at the University of Buenos Aires, Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism. In 2001, he was awarded the "Fondo Nacional de las Artes - The British Council 2001" scholarship to pursue postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom, graduating as a Master of Fine Arts (MA Fine Art) from Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London in October 2002. Currently, he teaches at the University of Buenos Aires and the National University of Avellaneda and works in visual arts in Buenos Aires.
