About The Artwork
I sat in my house, observing the sensations in my body, its femininity, and noticing the stiffness, blocks, and energy lumps that shield it. Behind each shield lies an emotion, a fixed thought, or trauma. I began to recall every experience my body endured, realizing that every thought leaves a mark—a fingerprint of past experiences. The predominant feeling I encounter is rejection, stemming from neglect and criticism, even though I have accepted and internalized hurtful words. For this, I apologize to my body and the little girl within me. As one book well express it, 'the body remembers everything.' Indeed, my body remembers a lot. I am struggling with my identity as a woman, feeling exhausted working on it. I feel often angry... Though now i stand before the mirror, gently trying to fit the skin I inhabit. And this vessel, laden with imperfections, i try to find my way to fill it with tenderness and love.
