The Russian Mute Painting

The work is devoted to the problem of restrictions on freedom of speech on the Internet by the Russian government: a ban on insulting believers' feelings, a ban on government criticism, a ban on insulting government officials and a ban on any extremist statements on social networks. The work participated in the garage exhibition of contemporary art in the city of Novosibirsk on February 15, 2019. Official galleries of fine art in my city are afraid to accept such works at the exhibition as they consider such topics as taboo. One of the meanings of the picture is that despite the rather strong and sometimes fanatical love of Russians for their country - which is expressed in the form of the Russian flag on the face of a person - Russia unreasonably prohibits many options for free expression of their thoughts (the flag stuck the man’s mouth).
