About The Artwork
From the series Momentos Musicales (Musical Moments) painted in Oaxaca in Mexico. My main interest is capturing movement and the energy of sentiment whilst the musician plays. All these paintings are painted from life with the musician actually performing while I paint (a collaboration where the music and sentiment affects my work). The paintings have been exhibited internationally in Mexico and London , UK. This painting can be shipped unframed or framed (contact artist to discuss) available framed (Black wooden frame with glass). Can be picked up in person (free shipping), or shipped in a crate framed or rolled in a tube unframed - minus the cost of the frame (contact artist to discuss).

I paint expressionist style portraits of musicians from life using rapid brushwork to express the movement and emotion of the music. Having previously studied and worked in the animation industry in London, I decided to make a break and moved to Oaxaca, Mexico in 2004, where captivated by the light and surrealist culture, I decided to remain for 7 years, living and working amongst the vibrant and respected artistic community which played a pivotal influence in my work. I began painting and drawing street musicians at this time in Mexico which culminated in several exhibitions. Since returning back to my hometown London in 2011, I have continued to work on this theme, and portrait painting, and am currently working on a new series of expressionist paintings of objects.
