This painting is dedicated to a man who left an indelible mark in Kate’s life. This work is an attempt to understand and epitomise the essence of his nature. He is portrayed as half human-half beast, a bipolarity that reflects his extremities. Strong and powerful, his heart is an organic machine. He is capable of great emotions, or perhaps imitations of it, which can be turned off at any moment. “He was a man from my dreams. He was the one who made me understand that the world in my mind is as real as the world my body moves in. He was force of a nature, he had the eyes of a lion, his hands had the strength of a bear, his mind was clear, and his heart was dead as the blackness of night. He wanted me to be fierce. He wanted me to be strong. He succeeded by taking my heart when he left, " says Kate Zokh about him.

The aesthetic of my work leans towards philosophic symbolism. I aim to explore the psychological and philosophical perception of the reality that surrounds me. I like to bring all my disturbing fears and desires to the surface, destroying the boundaries of normality, as if inviting the viewer to get closer to the unconscious. An important role in my work is given to a heart as a metaphor for the physical center of a person’s inner world. Many of my works are based on the depth of personal experience. They reflect the magnitude of the female power. Prolonged living in the Asian countries strongly influenced my works, having formed a specific style. Education and fashion industry experience inspired me to work with textile and create voluminous installations. My goal is to create an emotional connection between my paintings and a viewer and help them to hear the voices of their hearts.
