Julius Likh - the artist's pseudonym. The artist was born in the USSR in Minsk in 1972. Immediately after birth, Julius moved with his mother to his father in the city of Bernau in the GDR (Bernau bei Berlin). The artist's father, seeing the talent for drawing from his son, from the age of 6 began to hire painting and graphic teachers for his training. Among the artist’s teachers were recognized German masters, he successfully studied with them from 6 to 12 years old. Private lessons allowed the young artist to get a very good level of mastery of the technique of oil painting and graphics. In 1984, the Julius Likh family moved to Czechoslovakia, to the city of Turnov. Immediately after moving to Turnov in 1984, the young artist began attending a local school of fine arts. From the age of 15, Julius Likh participated in youth art exhibitions. Julius Likh continued his studies at the art school until 1989. In 1989, Julius Likh entered the Higher College of Art in Turnov to specialize as a restorer. He graduated as an artist in 1993. A great influence on the artist was influenced by his acquaintance with the work of the Austrian artist Ernst Fuchs (1930-2015), with whom he had been acquainted personally since 1989. Most of the artist’s works from 1991-2015 are made in the style of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. After the death of his father and the destruction of the Soviet Union, the artist moved permanently to Minsk, but periodically lived in Moscow, Turnov (Czech Republic), Berchtesgaden and Bad Reichenhall (Germany). The creative period of 1994-2015 for the artist was held in the style of the Vienna school of Fantastic Realism. Since 2016, the artist moves away from figurative content in his works and works in an abstract style, preserving his individual style.
