The dream Painting

This painting represents the dream, the pure imagination. It tries to go beyond the memory of the dream itself, which appears rather confused, difficult to remember in its integrity, concepts and vivid colors. Dream contains thoughts, emotions and reflections and this painting aims to tell us this experience. In fact reality appears to be transfigured, while psyche and memory take over everything. The theme of this dream is a dancer, accompanied by a black cat which stays under the chair in the foreground. At the left, on the end of the image, it is possible to see a figure, which is coming out of its ego, from its own identity in order to immerse itself in a more intimate, confused and animated world: the Dream. Everything takes place in a flourishing, luxuriant and plant-filled space, although the situation is confused and transfigured, since the vision is not real. The person dreams of something, probably a memory, or one of its affections or experiences. I want spectators to be able to escape from the reality that surrounds them for a moment, managing instead to focus on the painting and to identify with it. I chose this style because I think it is best suited to express an experience and a sense like those.
