About The Artwork
Inspired by a Serbian folk tale in which the emperor's barber has to keep secret that the emperor has goat ears, as any other barber that has mentioned it before was beheaded. Unable to keep the secret to himself any longer he digs a hole into the ground and screams the truth into it, burrying the secret in the ground. As time goes on an elder tree grows from the very spot. From that tree instruments are made that when played only sing "The emperor has goat ears."
