About The Artwork

In fact, I like to experiment with graphics techniques. And it seems that everything can be used here. Watercolors, felt-tip pens, pencils, pens, pastels, charcoal, colored paper and even scraps from magazines. I really like charcoal in drawing portraits. By the way, I have them below in the feed. Last fall, I purposefully painted portraits almost every day. And I discovered a lot of interesting things in the art of classical portraits. But most often I draw in a cafe. And I take my favorite alcohol felt-tip pens, different markers and ink pens with me. In a word - something that can be carefully laid out in order to stealthily draw people. Flare pens and markers allow you to create in a more free and playful manner. This allows me to move away from classical aesthetics and move into decorative.

Searching for my own path in painting took me a certain time. It has passed nine years since my first attempts to paint. However, during last several years I have started feeling self-assured, as my works reached desired level of skilfulness and artistic approach, and I really started liking them. Currently my love to post-impressionist artists' paintings became especially strong. I am often inspired by the works of Vincent van Gogh, Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, Edouard Vuillard, Albert Marquet, and Latvian artist Janis Valters. Most of all I value coloristic beauty of their works as well as the artists’ ability to show the weather conditions and the state of the nature with one brush stroke. Now I look into the future with greater confidence, think over new creative plans, and expect fulfilling them!
