About The Artwork

before he paint it.. This painting has a very close correlation with painting "the last supper" by Leonardo da Vinci. It's just the atmosphere that is depicted in this painting is the atmosphere prior to the meeting "the last supper" is, before Leonardo da Vinci painted that scene. In this painting I put some accent of Javanese culture-related to rituals, that has aesthetic and spiritual significance in Javanese society. Full food on the table meaning is the beginning of every pray, offerings for the future, more hope, thankful for the gift that has been received and that will come. Source : - The last supper, by Leonardo da Vinci, 1494-1498, Santa Maria delle Grazie, Milan. - Wide range of food and drinks, and nasi tumpeng. People in the island of Java, Bali and Madura has a habit of making the cone (nasi tumpeng) for a feast or celebrate an important event. Nevertheless almost all Indonesian people now know the nasi tumpeng. Philosophy cone is closely linked to the geographical condition of Indonesia, especially Java, who filled the ranks of the volcano. Mountain in the Javanese tradition, is a place which is believed to have a close connection with the sky and heaven. Cone is derived from the ancient tradition of Indonesian society that honors the mountain as the dwelling place of the hyang, or ancestral spirits (ancestors). Once the Java community embraced and influenced by Hindu culture, rice molded conical shape intended to mimic Mahameru sacred mountain, the dwelling place of the gods. - Javanese “gebyok”. Gebyok is one of traditional high art of Java, which is not only the usual crafts and carvings, but it contains a lot of meaning. Created to achieve practical goals, ethical, aesthetic, and spiritual.. Gebyok created to be a masterpiece. - Javanese Lamps Robyong lamps, always plugged in important buildings in the government of Java, or any worship space. The shape and ornamentation of this lamp is the result of a mixed culture marriages, cultural hodgepodge, mixing Western culture and Eastern culture elements. Mixing of cultures brought by the Hindu-Christian-Islam, who united in an object. Like blood, mixed culture is pervasive in all human life in that time. - A cat.
