About The Artwork
The brief for this piece was of a golden retriever retrieving a pheasant as part of a shoot. Having looked at how this subject had been approached in the past, I was keen to add a more challenging slant to it and so I set the scene in water. Working from a photo is a dry dog with a ball in its mouth required a combination of observation and imagination. The result was very well received.
